Woman Attacks Man Facing Trial For Las Vegas DUI Death Of Her Son

Las Vegas DUI accidents can have repercussions beyond just the immediate accident, and the injuries and deaths that are caused. After the accident, surviving family members of those killed and caregivers of those who are injured in Clark County driving while intoxicated accidents. The mother of a man that was killed in a DUI accident in Las Vegas recently attacked the driver of the car that killed her son, when both were at the courthouse of Clark County for a court hearing. The woman who was arrested and convicted of battering the driver in the accident, 64-year-old Lindona Thompson, plead no-contest to the charges. Ms. Thompson received a fine of $100 and must go to classes to help her control her impulses. Ms. Thompson must also not get in trouble with police for the next 90 days and if she does, the charges against her will be reversed. The man attacked by Ms. Thompson, Gary Adair, was not significantly hurt in the attack, by the woman who is 5’ 2” and has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Ms. Thompson was facing a fine of up to $1000 and could have been sent to jail for six months.

The man, Gary Aldair, has his trial postponed a number of times for the DUI accident that killed Ms. Thompson’s son, then 38-year-old Kadar Brown. Mr. Brown entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of intoxicated driving and reckless driving. Mr. Adair, if convicted, could receive a sentence of more than 20 years in prison. Mr. Adair is currently on bail awaiting trial, which has been rescheduled for March 2016. Mr. Brown was killed in the Southern Nevada DWI accident when he was fixing a blown tire on the shoulder of US 95. Mr. Adair was aged 22 at the time of the accident. The accident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on March 17th, 2014. Police responding to the accident initially suspected that Mr. Adair was suffering from a diabetic seizure at the time of the crash.
