Proposed change to Nevada DUI law not going anywhere yet

By | 2017-03-25T21:19:07-07:00 March 25th, 2017|Categories: DUI|Tags: , |

In our ongoing quest to not only stay up to date ourselves, but to also keep you well informed, we have news that there is no news on a particular bill that is important to anyone convicted of a Nevada DUI. This Nevada DUI bill was recently covered in the Las Vegas Sun, if you want to read up on another summary of it. We follow it because that is our job. We are Nevada DUI lawyers who handle cases online as much as possible. That way we can save our clients time, and we can save our clients money. At this point, there really isn’t much to follow. Despite news coverage and some other pushes, the bill has gone nowhere. You can see on the link below that there are no scheduled hearings for the bill, it has not been heard, and certainly it has not been voted on. But we will continue to keep tabs on it, that’s what 24hourticketpower.com does. If you have been arrested for driving under the influence in Nevada contact 24hourticketpower.com for help right away. We stay on top of all the latest Nevada DUI laws so that you don’t have to. See below [...]

Las Vegas Metro DUI checkpoint final numbers

By | 2017-03-23T20:57:31-07:00 March 23rd, 2017|Categories: DUI, Las Vegas Legal News|Tags: , |

The verdict is in, at least in so far as we now have numbers for DUI arrests in Las Vegas for one specific DUI checkpoint. This is the checkpoint we mentioned was coming over St. Patrick’s Day. And really, we didn’t need to mention it was coming, at least for regular readers of this blog. Big holidays, especially ones so intimately wound with drinking, always bring out a Las Vegas Metro Police checkpoint for driving under the influence. The numbers are in, and you can see them below in the Las Vegas Metro Police press release on the DUI checkpoint. The numbers are staggering, as always. Many people pass through, a large number are tested, but only a dozen arrested. As it says in the release, it took 38 police department staff members to man the checkpoint. 24hourticketpower.com gives you a convenient, online way to fight a DUI charge in Nevada. If you were charged that night, or any other night, visit us today. Driving under the influence convictions are expensive, time consuming, and hugely bothersome. We will make them go away completely if we can, and get them knocked down if we cannot get the charge fully dismissed. 24hourticketpower.com [...]

Las Vegas DUI checkpoint for St. Paddy’s Day

By | 2017-03-17T22:50:01-07:00 March 17th, 2017|Categories: DUI|Tags: , |

Another major holiday means another Las Vegas DUI checkpoint. Below is the Las Vegas Metro Police press release on the checkpoint for this evening. It’s not really surprising, given how much this holiday, Saint Patrick’s Day, has come to be about drinking. But no matter what happens out there tonight, you know that 24hourticketpower.com is the absolute best way to fight a Las Vegas DUI online. We certainly understand and can appreciate Las Vegas Metro Police’ goal of cutting down on Las Vegas DUI vehicle crashes and injuries. However, for us, the person accused of driving under the influence is entitled to the best legal defense out there, and that is 24hourticketpower.com. Now if you’re reading this, you’re likely past the point where the below information is useful. But what is useful is our website 24hourticketpower.com which lets you fight a Las Vegas DUI arrest online with top traffic attorneys. "The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Traffic Bureau along with Officers from the area commands will be conducting a “Sobriety Checkpoint” in the Las Vegas Valley, on March 17, 2017. Bill Heard to Change Marijuana DUI Arrest Testing

By | 2017-03-08T22:51:17-07:00 March 8th, 2017|Categories: DUI, Las Vegas Legal News, Marijuana DUI|Tags: , |

We’ve told you it was coming, and it has. It, in this case, is a bill to change how Nevada marijuana DUI arrests are made, based on how the DUI is calculated. Basically, almost everyone agrees that the way marijuana DUIs are measured in Nevada is worthless. You can be sober, and have been sober for quite some time, and still the test would consider you driving under the influence if you had used marijuana at all recently because the current test measures a level in your blood that does not correspond with impairment. Now, that test is still valid and still how you would be arrested right now. It’s important to remember that the law hasn’t changed yet, so if you’re arrested for a marijuana DUI in Nevada 24hourticketpower.com is the best online resource for you to get legal help with an arrest. We are available day or night. Best of all, 24hourticketpower.com stays up to date on all changes in the law, even ones that haven’t happened yet but are making their way through the legislature like this one. Remember that 24hourticketpower.com is the best way to fight a Nevada DUI, whether for marijuana, alcohol, or prescription drugs. [...]

Las Vegas DUI numbers from checkpoint, Super Bowl

By | 2017-02-17T22:47:45-07:00 February 17th, 2017|Categories: DUI, Online Legal Services|Tags: , |

The numbers are out from at least on Las Vegas DUI checkpoint that was in place for the Super Bowl. The numbers, as they usually do, tend to lend ever more credence to the arguments of those who say that these are not the most effective means to catch drunk drivers. Now, our goal here at 24hourticketpower.com is to help people who have been arrested for DUI in Las Vegas. However, we still understand the Las Vegas Metro Police force’s point, and the Nevada-wide focus on drunk driving, as DUI accidents in Las Vegas can cause serious injury. But if they point is to prevent them, then there are statistically much better ways. Roving patrols, for instance, are shown to be “better’ at catching drunk drivers. If you’re arrested for DUI in Las Vegas and need to connect to a lawyer day or night, 24hourticketpower.com is the place for you to visit. Our service can help you make the best of this admittedly unpleasant situation. Our top DUI attorneys know Nevada law and Las Vegas police. If we can’t get the charge thrown out, we’ll get it reduced down as far as humanly possible. We stay on top of all [...]

Super Bowl DUI Arrest Focus in Henderson

By | 2017-02-08T22:06:33-07:00 February 8th, 2017|Categories: DUI, Online Legal Services|Tags: , |

You had to know this post was coming. As predicable a post as there is for an online DUI attorney to know about, especially in Henderson and the rest of the Las Vegas valley. Football and beer are fairly synonymous enough to begin with. But you throw in the biggest of football games in the biggest sports gambling city and the biggest party city in general, and you have really got to worry anyway about a DUI enforcement presence for this night. Sure enough, they were out in force to arrest Las Vegas drivers for DUI. We haven’t yet seen anything about the final numbers. But we did see this report about the Henderson DUI arrest push from not only Henderson police but other law enforcement agencies in the area. If you are arrested for driving under the influence in Henderson or anywhere else in the Las Vegas area, fight it online with ticketpower.com. Our 24 hour service connects you with a Nevada DUI traffic attorney who can make the best for you out of a scary and sometimes ugly situation. We get tickets and arrests thrown out, knocked down, shortened, points reduced, and everything possible to make your life [...]

More Voices Against Las Vegas DUI Checkpoints

By | 2016-12-05T23:17:55-07:00 December 5th, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: , |

DUI checkpoints in Las Vegas and across the country are really not an efficient or effective means of keeping the roads safe, at least according to a fairly recent piece in the Las Vegas Review Journal. The piece covers the usual range of arguments that we have all seen in recent years. The officers it ties up from doing other patrols. The ease with which drivers who are impaired can avoid the checkpoints. The level of difficulty in even being able to spot a drunk driver from just having them roll down their window for a moment, as opposed to seeing them driving out on the street. Contrary to the belief of many, they don’t breathalyze everyone who goes through the checkpoint, only the ones who they suspect. That means visible intoxication, smell of alcohol, or other factors that alert police to possible suspicious activity. Then there’s the number of people who are inconvenienced  by the checkpoints themselves. Add to that the people who are out driving on the rest of the roads that do not have as many patrols because of the number of officers needed to man a checkpoint, and you get some real problems. 24hourticketpower.com can help [...]

Thanksgiving DUI in Las Vegas Ruins the Holiday

By | 2016-11-25T15:34:47-07:00 November 25th, 2016|Categories: DUI, Online Legal Services|Tags: , |

Thanksgiving is a day of celebration, for most people living in the United States of America, anyway. It is a day abounding with the Three Fs: food, family and football. While the roots of Thanksgiving may be somewhat less glowing and uniformly happy than most of us realize, that’s also how history works in a lot of ways. Regardless of what it was or wasn’t, it is now what it is: a feast and a long weekend of celebration. Of course for some they head straight from being thankful for what they have to throwing punches in the line to check out during Black Friday sales events, but that also is another story. However, there are also those of us who like to celebrate with a little alcohol as well as our food on Thanksgiving (most adults are probably in this category). Police have a tendency of setting up DUI checkpoints in Las Vegas for this very reason, since there are a number of Las Vegas vehicle accidents related to it. That almost always lends itself to at least a few people getting arrested for driving under the influence in Nevada on an otherwise celebratory evening. This is a truly [...]

Nevada DUI Laws May Get Harsher

By | 2016-11-21T01:29:16-07:00 November 21st, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: |

Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or MADD as they are often known, is again calling for stricter and harsher sentencing for drunk driving arrests in Nevada. In fact, they are specifically calling for a harsher sentence for a first time Nevada DUI arrest and conviction. They would like to see ignition interlock devices as a mandatory consequence of a first time DUI offense. Let’s step back for a moment for those of you who are not aware: an ignition interlock device is something that you have to blow into before your car will start. Of course your breath has to be free of alcohol for it to allow the vehicle to start, for the ignition to turn on. Hence, the name of the machine. The Mothers Against Drunk Driving will be pushing for this type of legislation during the upcoming legislative session in Carson City. We here at 24hourticketpower.com will be following that legislative session closely, as we do for any legislative session. We obsessively monitor all changes to traffic law and Nevada DUI law so that we can continue to offer top notch online service for Nevada DUI arrest or citations, as well as all traffic law. 24hourticketpower.com is available [...]

More on Nevada Marijuana DUI News

By | 2016-10-23T01:17:47-07:00 October 23rd, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: , |

One of the biggest talking points for the people running against state question two is that Nevada DUI issues will increase. They believe a huge surge will take place in instances of people being arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana in Las Vegas. They also believe, or at least are saying, that it will increase the injuries and even deaths from accidents caused by. The recent news on this is another person of interest and profile taking a public stand against question two. That is the question, if it wasn’t painfully obvious by this writing or any number of advertisements, is the question regarding full legalization of marijuana recreationally in the state of Nevada. It has been legal for medical purposes in Nevada for years. Depending on your perspective marijuana for medical uses has been legal in Nevada for about two years, or about 12 years. But that’s a side note that we don’t necessarily need to play at this particular moment. Back to the news we go. The recent public official to speak out against marijuana for recreational use is the District Attorney of Washoe County. This gentleman came out along with other members of the Nevada [...]

Presidential Debate Traffic Could Mean More Las Vegas DUI Arrests

By | 2016-10-11T01:48:04-07:00 October 11th, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: , , |

Watch out driving anywhere near the university in the afternoon and evening of October 19th. Extra police presence is likely to bring in additional officers looking for any suspicious or illegal activity on the roads. That includes things like speeding or suspected DUI in Las Vegas. Also watch out for traffic jams that could additionally cause you to want to or even need to speed around to try to find your way through. And that, friends, is because on October 19, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will be hosting a presidential debate. The debate will be held at the Thomas and Mack Center. The issues with traffic flow and perhaps more saliently the Secret Service closures of roads to allow “protected” individuals to get through to and from the debate center. From the Las Vegas Metro Press Release: “This event will cause periodic restrictions on Las Vegas valley roadways. Closures are anticipated to occur intermittently between the hours of 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the following areas: I-15 Southbound from Sahara Ave. to I-215 Eastbound through the airport connector (tunnel) to Russell Rd. By | 2016-09-23T22:25:03-07:00 September 23rd, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: |

Research looks like it may be getting every closer to a drink that acts like alcohol in its effects, but does not give you the one you don’t want: it supposedly carries with it no hangover. Yes, hangovers are bad. Sometimes, hangovers are downright awful. But that’s about as long as a hangover lasts: around two days with the second just being irritating. The effects of a Nevada DUI charge and especially conviction can haunt you for months and even years. That’s why ticketpower.com makes it easy for you to fight a Nevada DUI arrest online. DUI News in Nevada

By | 2016-08-30T00:25:11-07:00 August 30th, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: |

DUI crashes in Nevada have gone down, but you wouldn’t know it from recent news reports or Nevada DUI and other vehicle accidents and deaths. The interesting thing about this piece is what it says versus what it is about in a headline versus what it is about in the article. The headline reads like something the Zero Fatalities people might have planted, “Fatal DUI crashes raise concerns about impaired driving in Nevada.” Something they might have planted as a scare tactic, that is. We say that because the minute you start reading into the article the news itself has a very different tone. For instance, you would not expect in a piece titled as such that there had been a major decrease in the number of deaths from driving under the influence. We can’t actually tell from the article whether that refers only to Washoe County or also to the rest of Nevada. But either way, not language you expected with that headline. You also wouldn’t expect a nugget like the one buried at the end. In the final graph of the piece, it talks about one particularly surprising weekend that had no fatal accidents on Nevada roads. That [...]

DUI Laws in Las Vegas, The News, and The NFL

By | 2016-07-27T00:20:13-07:00 July 27th, 2016|Categories: DUI, Marijuana DUI|Tags: |

Our attorneys at 24hourticketpower.com follow traffic and DUI laws in the news rather obsessively. Recently that includes a lot of marijuana DUI news in Las Vegas and across the country. There is of course that ballot question coming up in November to fully legalize it for recreational use. It has been legal in Nevada for over a decade for medical use. You can quibble with that figure though because it’s been a whole lot less time that it’s been more than just theoretical in availability. Marijuana is also getting lots of national attention for everything from research availability and data to stories about its way overboard focus in the National Football League. The NFL goes out of its way to test players and sanction and stigmatize them for use of marijuana. Many find this somewhat baffling in an industry so reliant on and in constant use of prescription pain medication that is orders of magnitude more powerful. A prominent writer on CBS Sports has a long piece just recently up on their website calling for an end to marijuana testing, or at least drastically cutting the testing down to a reasonable level, and treating it much less seriously and only [...]

DUI Law in Nevada

Laws around DUI in Nevada are complicated. This is not particularly different state to state, though the particular complications may vary here and there. To give you a sense of what your top DUI attorneys at ticketpower.com have to just know at a basic level, here’s a sampling of the basic law for DUI in Nevada, straight from the statute itself. Feel free to skip if you like, this is just for example purposes: “PROHIBITED ACTS NRS 484C.110        Unlawful acts; affirmative defense; additional penalty for violation committed in work zone or pedestrian safety zone. [Effective until the date of the repeal of the federal law requiring each state to make it unlawful for a person to operate a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent or greater as a condition to receiving federal funding for the construction of highways in this State.] NRS 484C.110        Unlawful acts; affirmative defense; additional penalty for violation committed in work zone or pedestrian safety zone. Las Vegas DUI and Much, Much More

By | 2016-07-20T00:14:44-07:00 July 20th, 2016|Categories: DUI, Las Vegas Legal News|Tags: |

Even officers of the law have their problems with Nevada Highway Patrol or the Las Vegas Metro Police when they are off duty. Now, there are certainly plenty of pieces of anecdotal evidence that off duty cops do get favorable treatment from their brothers in blue. This is not terribly surprising on a certain level, as it happens in any industry. Bartenders give free drinks to other bartenders, contractors help each other out, doctors help each other out, it is a common refrain. However, the folks who enforce the laws are not supposed to go easy on anyone more than another. At least in this recent case it appears that they did not. The off duty cop was hit was a DUI charge in Las Vegas, as well as a whole host of other offenses both big and small. From the recent news report on the Las Vegas DUI arrest, here is the list as initially reported: Felony DUI with substantial bodily harm Felony leaving the scene of a crash Two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run property damage Three counts of misdemeanor failure to use due care Three counts misdemeanor failure to give information or render aid Misdemeanor failure to drive [...]

Las Vegas Metro Police Announce DUI Checkpoint for Tonight

By | 2016-06-22T03:49:15-07:00 June 22nd, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: , |

Underage drinking is the focus of an upcoming Las Vegas DUI checkpoint that will be run tonight (Thursday). From the Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s press release on the checkpoint, the details they have released are as follows: “The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Traffic Bureau along with Officers from the Area Commands will be conducting a “sobriety checkpoint” in the Las Vegas Valley. This event will focus on both drug and/or alcohol impaired drivers in the hope of reducing the impact of impaired drivers and impaired related crashes. This checkpoint is being supported by the EUDL, Enforcing Under Age Drinking Laws, grant. The checkpoint will be conducted on Thursday June 23, 2016 between the hours of 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. The location selected for the checkpoint will be in the Las Vegas Valley on a roadway that has had 26 events, drunk drivers and traffic accidents in the last six months. The checkpoint will focus on identifying drug and alcohol impaired drivers to include juveniles, young adults, and older adults, before they get involved in a collision, thereby increasing the safety for all Southern Nevada motorists. This event symbolizes the commitment of LVMPD toward reducing the number of [...]
