The verdict is in, at least in so far as we now have numbers for DUI arrests in Las Vegas for one specific DUI checkpoint. This is the checkpoint we mentioned was coming over St. Patrick’s Day. And really, we didn’t need to mention it was coming, at least for regular readers of this blog. Big holidays, especially ones so intimately wound with drinking, always bring out a Las Vegas Metro Police checkpoint for driving under the influence. The numbers are in, and you can see them below in the Las Vegas Metro Police press release on the DUI checkpoint. The numbers are staggering, as always. Many people pass through, a large number are tested, but only a dozen arrested. As it says in the release, it took 38 police department staff members to man the checkpoint. gives you a convenient, online way to fight a DUI charge in Nevada. Bill Heard to Change Marijuana DUI Arrest Testing

By | 2017-03-08T22:51:17-07:00 March 8th, 2017|Categories: DUI, Las Vegas Legal News, Marijuana DUI|Tags: , |

We’ve told you it was coming, and it has. It, in this case, is a bill to change how Nevada marijuana DUI arrests are made, based on how the DUI is calculated. Basically, almost everyone agrees that the way marijuana DUIs are measured in Nevada is worthless. You can be sober, and have been sober for quite some time, and still the test would consider you driving under the influence if you had used marijuana at all recently because the current test measures a level in your blood that does not correspond with impairment. Now, that test is still valid and still how you would be arrested right now. It’s important to remember that the law hasn’t changed yet, so if you’re arrested for a marijuana DUI in Nevada is the best online resource for you to get legal help with an arrest. We are available day or night. Best of all, stays up to date on all changes in the law, even ones that haven’t happened yet but are making their way through the legislature like this one. Remember that is the best way to fight a Nevada DUI, whether for marijuana, alcohol, or prescription drugs. [...]

Las Vegas DUI numbers from checkpoint, Super Bowl

By | 2017-02-17T22:47:45-07:00 February 17th, 2017|Categories: DUI, Online Legal Services|Tags: , |

The numbers are out from at least on Las Vegas DUI checkpoint that was in place for the Super Bowl. The numbers, as they usually do, tend to lend ever more credence to the arguments of those who say that these are not the most effective means to catch drunk drivers. Now, our goal here at is to help people who have been arrested for DUI in Las Vegas. However, we still understand the Las Vegas Metro Police force’s point, and the Nevada-wide focus on drunk driving, as DUI accidents in Las Vegas can cause serious injury. But if they point is to prevent them, then there are statistically much better ways. Roving patrols, for instance, are shown to be “better’ at catching drunk drivers. If you’re arrested for DUI in Las Vegas and need to connect to a lawyer day or night, is the place for you to visit. Our service can help you make the best of this admittedly unpleasant situation. Super Bowl DUI Arrest Focus in Henderson

By | 2017-02-08T22:06:33-07:00 February 8th, 2017|Categories: DUI, Online Legal Services|Tags: , |

You had to know this post was coming. As predicable a post as there is for an online DUI attorney to know about, especially in Henderson and the rest of the Las Vegas valley. Football and beer are fairly synonymous enough to begin with. But you throw in the biggest of football games in the biggest sports gambling city and the biggest party city in general, and you have really got to worry anyway about a DUI enforcement presence for this night. Sure enough, they were out in force to arrest Las Vegas drivers for DUI. We haven’t yet seen anything about the final numbers. But we did see this report about the Henderson DUI arrest push from not only Henderson police but other law enforcement agencies in the area. If you are arrested for driving under the influence in Henderson or anywhere else in the Las Vegas area, fight it online with Our 24 hour service connects you with a Nevada DUI traffic attorney who can make the best for you out of a scary and sometimes ugly situation. More Voices Against Las Vegas DUI Checkpoints

By | 2016-12-05T23:17:55-07:00 December 5th, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: , |

DUI checkpoints in Las Vegas and across the country are really not an efficient or effective means of keeping the roads safe, at least according to a fairly recent piece in the Las Vegas Review Journal. The piece covers the usual range of arguments that we have all seen in recent years. The officers it ties up from doing other patrols. The ease with which drivers who are impaired can avoid the checkpoints. The level of difficulty in even being able to spot a drunk driver from just having them roll down their window for a moment, as opposed to seeing them driving out on the street. Contrary to the belief of many, they don’t breathalyze everyone who goes through the checkpoint, only the ones who they suspect. That means visible intoxication, smell of alcohol, or other factors that alert police to possible suspicious activity. Then there’s the number of people who are inconvenienced  by the checkpoints themselves. Add to that the people who are out driving on the rest of the roads that do not have as many patrols because of the number of officers needed to man a checkpoint, and you get some real problems. can help [...]

Thanksgiving DUI in Las Vegas Ruins the Holiday

By | 2016-11-25T15:34:47-07:00 November 25th, 2016|Categories: DUI, Online Legal Services|Tags: , |

Thanksgiving is a day of celebration, for most people living in the United States of America, anyway. It is a day abounding with the Three Fs: food, family and football. While the roots of Thanksgiving may be somewhat less glowing and uniformly happy than most of us realize, that’s also how history works in a lot of ways. Regardless of what it was or wasn’t, it is now what it is: a feast and a long weekend of celebration. Of course for some they head straight from being thankful for what they have to throwing punches in the line to check out during Black Friday sales events, but that also is another story. However, there are also those of us who like to celebrate with a little alcohol as well as our food on Thanksgiving (most adults are probably in this category). Police have a tendency of setting up DUI checkpoints in Las Vegas for this very reason, since there are a number of Las Vegas vehicle accidents related to it. That almost always lends itself to at least a few people getting arrested for driving under the influence in Nevada on an otherwise celebratory evening. This is a truly [...]

Nevada DUI Laws May Get Harsher

By | 2016-11-21T01:29:16-07:00 November 21st, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: |

Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or MADD as they are often known, is again calling for stricter and harsher sentencing for drunk driving arrests in Nevada. In fact, they are specifically calling for a harsher sentence for a first time Nevada DUI arrest and conviction. They would like to see ignition interlock devices as a mandatory consequence of a first time DUI offense. Let’s step back for a moment for those of you who are not aware: an ignition interlock device is something that you have to blow into before your car will start. Of course your breath has to be free of alcohol for it to allow the vehicle to start, for the ignition to turn on. Hence, the name of the machine. The Mothers Against Drunk Driving will be pushing for this type of legislation during the upcoming legislative session in Carson City. We here at will be following that legislative session closely, as we do for any legislative session. We obsessively monitor all changes to traffic law and Nevada DUI law so that we can continue to offer top notch online service for Nevada DUI arrest or citations, as well as all traffic law. is available [...]

More on Nevada Marijuana DUI News

By | 2016-10-23T01:17:47-07:00 October 23rd, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: , |

One of the biggest talking points for the people running against state question two is that Nevada DUI issues will increase. They believe a huge surge will take place in instances of people being arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana in Las Vegas. They also believe, or at least are saying, that it will increase the injuries and even deaths from accidents caused by. The recent news on this is another person of interest and profile taking a public stand against question two. That is the question, if it wasn’t painfully obvious by this writing or any number of advertisements, is the question regarding full legalization of marijuana recreationally in the state of Nevada. It has been legal for medical purposes in Nevada for years. Depending on your perspective marijuana for medical uses has been legal in Nevada for about two years, or about 12 years. But that’s a side note that we don’t necessarily need to play at this particular moment. Back to the news we go. The recent public official to speak out against marijuana for recreational use is the District Attorney of Washoe County. This gentleman came out along with other members of the Nevada [...]

DUI News in Nevada

By | 2016-08-30T00:25:11-07:00 August 30th, 2016|Categories: DUI|Tags: |

DUI crashes in Nevada have gone down, but you wouldn’t know it from recent news reports or Nevada DUI and other vehicle accidents and deaths. The interesting thing about this piece is what it says versus what it is about in a headline versus what it is about in the article. The headline reads like something the Zero Fatalities people might have planted, “Fatal DUI crashes raise concerns about impaired driving in Nevada.” Something they might have planted as a scare tactic, that is. We say that because the minute you start reading into the article the news itself has a very different tone. For instance, you would not expect in a piece titled as such that there had been a major decrease in the number of deaths from driving under the influence. We can’t actually tell from the article whether that refers only to Washoe County or also to the rest of Nevada. But either way, not language you expected with that headline. You also wouldn’t expect a nugget like the one buried at the end. In the final graph of the piece, it talks about one particularly surprising weekend that had no fatal accidents on Nevada roads. That [...]

DUI Laws in Las Vegas, The News, and The NFL

By | 2016-07-27T00:20:13-07:00 July 27th, 2016|Categories: DUI, Marijuana DUI|Tags: |

Our attorneys at follow traffic and DUI laws in the news rather obsessively. Recently that includes a lot of marijuana DUI news in Las Vegas and across the country. There is of course that ballot question coming up in November to fully legalize it for recreational use. It has been legal in Nevada for over a decade for medical use. You can quibble with that figure though because it’s been a whole lot less time that it’s been more than just theoretical in availability. Marijuana is also getting lots of national attention for everything from research availability and data to stories about its way overboard focus in the National Football League. The NFL goes out of its way to test players and sanction and stigmatize them for use of marijuana. Many find this somewhat baffling in an industry so reliant on and in constant use of prescription pain medication that is orders of magnitude more powerful. A prominent writer on CBS Sports has a long piece just recently up on their website calling for an end to marijuana testing, or at least drastically cutting the testing down to a reasonable level, and treating it much less seriously and only [...]

Las Vegas DUI and Much, Much More

By | 2016-07-20T00:14:44-07:00 July 20th, 2016|Categories: DUI, Las Vegas Legal News|Tags: |

Even officers of the law have their problems with Nevada Highway Patrol or the Las Vegas Metro Police when they are off duty. Now, there are certainly plenty of pieces of anecdotal evidence that off duty cops do get favorable treatment from their brothers in blue. This is not terribly surprising on a certain level, as it happens in any industry. Bartenders give free drinks to other bartenders, contractors help each other out, doctors help each other out, it is a common refrain. However, the folks who enforce the laws are not supposed to go easy on anyone more than another. At least in this recent case it appears that they did not. The off duty cop was hit was a DUI charge in Las Vegas, as well as a whole host of other offenses both big and small. From the recent news report on the Las Vegas DUI arrest, here is the list as initially reported: Felony DUI with substantial bodily harm Felony leaving the scene of a crash Two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run property damage Three counts of misdemeanor failure to use due care Three counts misdemeanor failure to give information or render aid Misdemeanor failure to drive [...]
