Henderson, NV Police Issue Hundreds of Tickets in January

By | 2016-01-30T16:16:09-07:00 January 30th, 2016|Categories: Henderson Legal News, Online Legal Services, Traffic Ticket|Tags: , |

If you live in Henderson you probably need help fixing a traffic ticket online. That’s because, if you hadn’t heard, police have been out in force in Henderson, Nevada, issuing traffic tickets left and right for the month of January. They even had cops from with them from other local jurisdictions and from the Nevada Highway Patrol. This was all made possible by money from the feds in the form of a grant used to pay for other officers come help hand out Henderson traffic tickets. We supposed in part that could be used as ammunition to say that traffic tickets do not pay for themselves, and they’re really just to keep public safety in mind. We here at 24hourticketpower.com really don’t have a position on that. You could argue it any which way. You could say that they just don’t pay enough to be worth the administrative hassle of finding the officers from other jurisdictions, or paying solo traffic enforcement officers. You could wonder if the Henderson Police on the back end have to pay back a part or all of the traffic ticket fees collected from the extra enforcement. That’s honestly an argument or a philosophical exercise that [...]

Spring Valley Neighborhood Partners With Police to Reduce Las Vegas Speeding

By | 2015-10-28T09:44:28-07:00 October 28th, 2015|Categories: Henderson Legal News, Las Vegas Legal News, Speeding|Tags: , , |

The residents of the neighborhood that includes Charleston Blvd., Oakey Blvd. and Lindell Rd. are concerned about the high speeds motorists travel through their neighborhood each day. One of the residents even mentioned that many use the neighborhood for car stunts like skidding and donuts. There is also a school zone in the area with a 15 mile per hour zone when school is in session and children are present. Residents have even painted a nearby sound wall with text imploring drivers to stop speeding. Police have increased patrols for Spring Valley Speeding citations however a new tool is being put to use to help reduce the number of people driving at excessive speed. An interactive speed feedback sign has been put in as a temporary solution to the consistent speeding in the neighborhood. The sign is just north of Mountain View Dr. Police and local transportation agencies are working on a study to determine whether or not a permanent speed feedback sign in the neighborhood. If the study proves fruitful, funding would have to be secured to install a permanent sign. The temporary signs are typically installed for two to three days. The sign not only alerts motorists that [...]

Updated Las Vegas Traffic Laws Take Effect October 1

By | 2015-10-05T08:41:49-07:00 October 5th, 2015|Categories: DUI, General Ticket Info, Henderson Legal News, Las Vegas Legal News, Local News|Tags: , , |

Traffic laws in Las Vegas changed on Thursday, October 1, as laws passed during the last legislative session. The penalty for fleeing the scene of an accident has increased when someone is hurt in the crash. The increased penalties for hit-and-run driving are in conjunction with Las Vegas DUI accidents that cause accidents. Other laws that are getting strengthened include laws about driving in school zones. The law changes close loopholes that enabled some people to avoid conviction when they were arrested for Clark County driving while intoxicated accidents and other traffic infractions. The law changes to hit and run driving are subtle. Before the change, a person who injured or killed someone in an accident and then fled could be granted probation by the courts. If you were guilty of Southern Nevada DWI in the accident, however, you would not have been eligible for parole. The law changes basically eliminated that loophole and now, if you are convicted of fleeing the scene of an accident after injuring or killing a person, you will not be able to be paroled by the court. The loophole enabled people to sober up after the accident when they fled, thus enabling them to [...]

Increased Henderson Traffic Enforcement Results In Clark County Tickets For Speeding, Not Yielding To Pedestrians & Jaywalking

By | 2015-09-14T11:19:05-07:00 September 14th, 2015|Categories: General Ticket Info, Henderson Legal News, Road Rules, Speeding|Tags: , , |

Police in Henderson gave over 40 tickets to drivers who ignored pedestrians on Henderson roads in a pedestrian safety enforcement event that lasted a week. The Henderson Pedestrian laws ticket writing effort ran from Friday, August 21st to Friday, August 28th. The Henderson Police department added extra police patrols that were concentrating on the city’s busiest intersections targeting drivers who did not let pedestrians in crosswalks completely cross the street and pedestrians who cross the street outside of crosswalks or when a traffic light does not give them permission to cross. 45 total drivers received tickets for not letting pedestrians completely cross the street in a crosswalk. Laws require motorists to wait until the person crossing the street makes it entirely across, unless the road is separated by a physical median. Clark County street crosser citations totaled 14. Those individuals were tickets for not crossing in crosswalks, not waiting for a light to cross the street and finally for jaywalking. Tickets were also written for Las Vegas speeding, not having valid insurance in Southern Nevada, expired Nevada automobile registrations and then finally to people who did not have a valid driver’s license. Henderson police emphasized that the responsibility for being [...]

Henderson police, in conjunction with the State of Nevada, increased traffic patrols in an effort to improve traffic safety, cited and or arrested nearly 393 drivers, passengers and even pedestrians in the nearly two week effort. Three Henderson DUI tickets were also written during the enforcement efforts. The program which finished July 13th and started July 2nd, resulted in almost 346 cars, trucks and motorcycles pulled over and tickets written. 182 of the tickets written were for Clark County speeding. Running red lights resulted in 11 tickets. 28 drivers were ticketed for not yielding to other drivers when street signs instructed them to do so. The traffic enforcement effort was funded by a joint federal and state Joining Forces grant. The grant, which was $107,500 was used to pay for officer overtime and consumables used in the increased traffic enforcement. Those consumables include gasoline, rubber gloves and pipettes used by breathalyzers. Joining Forces is designed to help urban communities reduce the deaths associated with dangerous and distracted driving. The program also works to educate pedestrians in traffic safety so that the deadly rising count of pedestrian deaths can be curbed in the Silver State. Joining Forces is a State of [...]

Jorge Paz-Herrera was intoxicated behind the wheel of his pickup, as he drove along the wrong side of highway 215 and subsequently crashed into Jennie Bergstrom as she drove. Mr. Paz-Herrera not only had been arrested for drunk driving a number of times previously, at the time of the crash, he was driving on a revoked license for a DUI accident in Las Vegas that had happened previously. The September 2014 crash resulted in the death of Jennie Bergstrom, yet Mr. Paz-Herrera only sustained minor injuries. 30-year old Paz-Herrera plead guilty to the Clark County DUI death. This was the 4th time he had been arrested for driving while intoxicated in Southern Nevada. The sentencing hearing for Mr. Paz-Herrera in the last week of April 2015 was attended by a number of Ms. Bergstrom’s family members and friends. All wore white & pink shirts with a phrase stating “Justice for Jenny” on the front. Ms. Bergstrom’s mother testified at the sentencing hearing about how many people loved her deceased daughter. The sentencing ended with Justice Carolyn Ellsworth sentencing Mr. Paz-Herrera to $30,000 in fines and restitution and up to 20 years in prison for the Las Vegas DUI causing death. [...]

Nevada Supreme Court Lacks Budget Due To Increased Las Vegas DUI Citations

By | 2015-03-29T17:52:27-07:00 March 29th, 2015|Categories: DUI, General Ticket Info, Henderson Legal News, Las Vegas Legal News, Local News, Online Legal Services|Tags: , , , , |

An increased focus on traffic safety as opposed to simply writing tickets for revenue purposes has had an unintended consequence for the budget of the Nevada court system. As Las Vegas area police agencies have increased ticketing for driving infractions such as driving while intoxicated in Las Vegas in an effort to reduce the number of pedestrian fatalities and automobile accidents that have resulted in death. Finding for the increased focus on Southern Nevada driving infractions has come from grants from the State of Nevada’s Joining Forces grant. The Joining Forces grant has been used to ameliorate budgets from increased overtime for police, the costs associated with consumables used in DUI checkpoints and increased advertising for pedestrian awareness, Clark County DUI and even speeding. Since this increased ticketing for drunk driving in Southern Nevada, speeding and even cell phone use while driving began, the money available to the Nevada court system to operate. Currently, for the budget year 2015, the Nevada State court system is showing a $700,000 deficit. Typically, the Supreme Court of Nevada gets between $30 and $110 for each ticket issued by Las Vegas police. The number of tickets written in Nevada in 2010 were over 615,000. [...]

The headline grabbing case of a Texas boy who got probation for a drunk driving accident which killed four people is shining a spotlight on DUIs in Las Vegas as well. According to this recent article, DUI laws in Nevada are some of the toughest in the country. This means that, if you’re arrested for driving under the influence in Nevada, you need to make sure you have a top lawyer on your side, you need 24hourticketpower.com. In part it makes sense in terms of what Nevada is: a state without so called “blue laws” like most states have that stop the sale, both retail in supermarkets and liquor stores, and point of sale, like in bars and restaurants, at a certain hour, 2am in many states. Because more hours in the evening of legal drinking can mean just that, more drinking, there is greater opportunity for drivers to have too many and get behind the wheel. Add in Las Vegas’ reputation and marketing as a party town where anything goes, and you have a perfect set up for higher than average incidents of driving under the influence. This has led harsher DUI laws in order to act as a [...]

As we predicted, and as they’ve done before, they are posting a list of the places they will have DUI checkpoints in Southern Nevada, and giving tips to avoid getting arrested for driving under the influence in Clark County. Basically, they are saying that they just don’t want you to drive intoxicated, and would rather forewarn you and have you be safe than catch you and arrest or cite you. The problem, though, is that you may be driving sober, but get a DUI anyway. They’re equipment is not always up to date or proper calibrated, and breathalyzers aren’t always accurate, anyway. Regardless of the reason, if you get a DUI in Clark County and want to fight it, visit 24hourticketpower.com. Our attorneys know the law inside and out, and always give 100% in fighting your case. A new strategy is being used by Las Vegas area police departments to catch speeders across Southern Nevada. Police and Southern Nevada safety agencies are hoping that with the increased ticketing for speeding in Las Vegas, area drivers will slow down and 2013’s near record rate of Las Vegas automobile accidents will slow down to more acceptable levels. The goal is to make Las Vegas roads safer for everyone. If you have received a ticket for speeding in Las Vegas, log onto 24hourticketpower.com to fight or fix your ticket online. By using 24hourticketpower.com you can bypass the lines at Clark County traffic court and not waste a day off work waiting in lines. One of the new Las Vegas police anti-speeding tactics is to park what looks like a disabled pick-up truck on the side of the road. While drivers might think that the truck on the side of the road has a flat tire, in fact, there is a police officer with a radar gun tracking drivers who are exceeding the speed limit. Police tactics vary with the use of unmarked cars like the pick-up truck on the side of the highway. Often, the police officer with the radar [...]

Las Vegas Area Police Departments Increasing Ticketing For Crosswalk Violations

By | 2013-02-23T18:40:32-07:00 February 23rd, 2013|Categories: Careless Driving, General Ticket Info, Henderson Legal News, Las Vegas Legal News|Tags: , , , , |

Crosswalk laws are complicated, especially in Las Vegas, where we have two lane roads, four lane roads, even eight lane roads. These varied traffic environments can cause confusion and even result in additional tickets for careless driving in Las Vegas. Essentially, if a person is crossing a six lane road and they are on the other side of the traffic island from your car, you can go across the cross walk while they are walking across on the other side. However, once they get to the same side of the traffic island as your automobile, you are required to allow them to cross the street. If you have been ticketed for careless driving in Southern Nevada and wish to fight or fix your ticket, log onto 24hourticketpower.com today. Las Vegas area police departments are paying careful attention to these Clark County careless driving statutes due to the large number of pedestrian deaths in 2012 and the even increased rate of Las Vegas pedestrian accident fatalities in 2013. Las Vegas drivers must also take special attention to flashing yellow lights in Las Vegas intersections. While drivers are allowed to enter intersections with flashing yellow lights with caution, they must also yield [...]

One of the more serious infractions people can incur while driving is driving without a license in Las Vegas. Many of the people who are arrested for driving without a license are often behind the wheel because they have previously received too many Las Vegas speeding tickets or have gotten a Las Vegas DUI. The consequences for driving without a license are significant and often cause people without driver’s licenses to fear police interaction. When those in Las Vegas who drive without a license get in a minor traffic accident, they are at the mercy of the person with whom they hit – as these individuals also do not  have automobile insurance and face arrest. IF you have been arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in Las Vegas, log onto 24hourticketpower.com to process your ticket today. There is another group of motorists on Las Vegas roads who are on the roads without drivers licenses or automobile insurance. There are many undocumented immigrants in Southern Nevada who are not able to obtain drivers licensed due to their immigration status. These folks are also on the road without automobile insurance – and in an accident can often bankrupt those they [...]

With Halloween little more than a week away, Las Vegas area police departments have begun to announce the DUI check points they will set up in and around that weekend in Las Vegas. With news of yesterday’s accident between a Ford Taurus and a Jeep on Interstate 15 sent 9 people to the hospital. The accident happened on the northbound lane of Interstate 15 at around 9:40 p.m. All were rushed to University Hospital in Las Vegas. Many in Las Vegas have begun to decry how people drive in Las Vegas and how many are unaware of new traffic laws designed to reduce Las Vegas’ record number of 2012 automobile and pedestrian accident fatalities. Since Las Vegas is a highway based city with many roads six lanes wide, Southern Nevada drivers tailgate, cut off others and speed along the roads. These poor driving habits have even led to Las Vegas’ listing as one of the most ticketed cities in the United States. If you have been ticketed for a moving violation in Las Vegas, log onto 24hourticketpower.com today to fight or fix your ticket online, without court visits. Recent construction on Interstate 15 also leads to many Las Vegas automobile accidents. On the highway, a number of express lanes have been added to the left hand side of the road. Clark County school system students and Las Vegas automobile drivers all learned lessons this Wednesday for a multi-national day of children and their family members walking to school. Drivers across Las Vegas when crossing through school zones were required to pay careful attention due to the large amounts of children and adult pedestrians walking along Las Vegas roads. 10 Clark County schools took part in the school sponsored Walk to School event. Metro Police have not announced how many Las Vegas speeding tickets were issued during the event. 24hourticketpower.com is an online speeding ticket processing website where you can fight or fix nearly any Las Vegas traffic ticket online, without time consuming day long visits to the Clark County traffic court. Last year, four kids died in school zone and cross walk pedestrian accidents in Southern Nevada last year. The majority of school zone pedestrian accidents that happen in and around schools are usually parents dropping their children off at school. [...]

Traffic accidents in Las Vegas can often expose either the at fault driver or the accident victim to significant legal peril, especially when one of the drivers was speeding, has outstanding ticket warrants or is driving under an expired driver’s license.
