Bill Heard to Change Marijuana DUI Arrest Testing

By | 2017-03-08T22:51:17-07:00 March 8th, 2017|Categories: DUI, Las Vegas Legal News, Marijuana DUI|Tags: , |

We’ve told you it was coming, and it has. It, in this case, is a bill to change how Nevada marijuana DUI arrests are made, based on how the DUI is calculated. Basically, almost everyone agrees that the way marijuana DUIs are measured in Nevada is worthless. You can be sober, and have been sober for quite some time, and still the test would consider you driving under the influence if you had used marijuana at all recently because the current test measures a level in your blood that does not correspond with impairment. Now, that test is still valid and still how you would be arrested right now. It’s important to remember that the law hasn’t changed yet, so if you’re arrested for a marijuana DUI in Nevada 24hourticketpower.com is the best online resource for you to get legal help with an arrest. We are available day or night. Best of all, 24hourticketpower.com stays up to date on all changes in the law, even ones that haven’t happened yet but are making their way through the legislature like this one. Remember that 24hourticketpower.com is the best way to fight a Nevada DUI, whether for marijuana, alcohol, or prescription drugs. [...]

Different Kinds of Nevada Careless Driving Citations

By | 2016-08-09T01:41:59-07:00 August 9th, 2016|Categories: Careless Driving, Online Legal Services|Tags: , |

Though we are mostly an online traffic ticket service for Las Vegas and the surrounding area, we still follow traffic law all over the state. Good ideas spread, and sometimes bad ideas spread even more quickly. So we perked our ears up when we saw news of a new Nevada traffic law going into effect in Reno. What are our urban compatriots up north up to these days? They’re making a separate traffic offense for careless driving in Nevada, if only inside their Reno city limits. Additions to the no no list include eating, doing any kind of makeup or face pruning including but not limited to shaving, and more. The actual infraction that this has become is called “Inattentive Driving” and also includes the heinous act of brushing your teeth. At least according to some reports, kids distracting you is also a newly leveled traffic violation under this new provision. Even Fido and Katty Cat are not immune from being the proximal causes of this statute. It’s not a cheap Nevada traffic citation, either, running up to and including three hundred and five dollars. It’s not surprising that the list of banned and newly harsher penalized activities includes doing [...]

Las Vegas Careless Driving Tickets for Failing to Stop for Pedestrians

By | 2015-02-11T22:59:40-07:00 February 11th, 2015|Categories: Careless Driving, Distraction on the Road: Texting, Online Legal Services|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

Police are once again out in force handing out careless driving tickets in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas to people who fail to stop for pedestrians in marked crosswalks. This is not an uncommon thing for police in the Las Vegas area to focus on, as pedestrian deaths have often been a major problem in the area. Certainly it is not all the fault of drivers, and police are aware of this. They also target pedestrians during these enforcement crackdowns, issuing citations for jay walking and the like. The way these traffic enforcement often work is through the use of a decoy. Whichever department or departments are involved in the program will use someone, usually a police officer, to try to catch people in the act of not stopping for a pedestrian crossing the road. The decoy usually wears something bright and highly visible, sometimes wearing something quite outlandish like a Halloween-type costume. They then begin to cross the road. Anyone who doesn’t stop is given a careless driving citation in Southern Nevada. Police will also just camp out at dangerous intersections and wait and watch, seeing which drivers fail to stop for normal pedestrians. They usually pick these [...]

Las Vegas Distracted Driving Ticket for Eating, Like this Case?

By | 2015-01-30T22:41:29-07:00 January 30th, 2015|Categories: Distraction on the Road: Texting, Las Vegas Legal News, Online Legal Services|Tags: , , , , , , |

Could you get a traffic ticket in Las Vegas for eating a hamburger? It all depends on what you are driving like and who sees you. We bring this up as we read the Las Vegas news about this distracted driving ticket given to a man in Cobb County, Georgia. It does happen that police will issue distracted driving tickets for eating, it is something that we here at 24hourticketpower.com have seen from our clients, that we have helped them with. It really all depends on the officer and the driver in that situation. Most people eat when they’re driving. Maybe not all the time, but often. Finishing breakfast on your way to work, finishing lunch on your way back from your break. Eating a snack on your way in between meetings or to pick up the kids. It happens. One of the keys to properly fighting one of these tickets is whether the officer catches you doing something else. It’s not illegal, per se, to eat while driving. It becomes distracted driving when it causes you to lose your lane, speed, miss and ignore a traffic sign, or run a red light, for just a few examples. That’s where [...]

Police Target North Las Vegas for Speeding Tickets in School Zones

By | 2014-12-03T22:04:01-07:00 December 3rd, 2014|Categories: Online Legal Services, Speeding|Tags: , , , |

North Las Vegas police have been conducting focused enforcements on school zones, focusing on handing out speeding tickets to Nevada drivers who aren’t obeying the lowered speed limits in those school zones. They have also been ticketing people in those areas for crossing outside of a crosswalk, cell phone violations, drivers not yielding the right of way to pedestrians in crosswalks, and anything else they see. This jibes with what we’ve been seeing in terms of more people looking to fight their North Las Vegas speeding ticket online in the last few days. This special enforcement focus went over the course of an entire day around school hours, from 6am to 4pm, just a couple of days ago. They focus is to cut down on the number of Las Vegas automobile accidents, especially with school children and pedestrians. No official numbers were released yet for how many North Las Vegas school zone speeding tickets were handed out over the course of this most recent enforcement focus. According to Aaron Patty, a North Las Vegas Police Officer, a typical one of these will net between 150 and 200 tickets. The way it usually works is with a spotter and chasers. An [...]

Turkey Involved in Las Vegas Speeding Ticket Operation

By | 2014-11-28T22:49:51-07:00 November 28th, 2014|Categories: Online Legal Services, Speeding|Tags: , , , , , |

A recent operation by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department netted quite a number of traffic citations. The tickets included Las Vegas speeding tickets, failure to stop for pedestrians in marked crosswalks, and a number of other citations like seatbelt violations, insurance and license issues, and the like. This is the second annual operation of this kind by the Las Vegas Metropolitan police department, and it is anything but ordinary. Specifically, and officer crosses the street – in a marked crosswalk and in broad daylight – in a sparkly turkey suit. That’s right: a turkey suit. As a side note, you have to feel a little sorry for the officer who drew the straw to have to take on this duty. Officer Michael Lemley is who had that honor this year. For four hours he walked back and forth across a particularly dangerous crosswalk – a dangerous enough duty in and of itself – dressed in a shiny turkey outfit. He even had a code name of sorts: Butter Ball 1. On his first trip across the street at eight in the morning someone had to brake so hard they smoked their tires as rubber burned during their stop to [...]

Uber and Las Vegas Traffic Tickets

By | 2014-10-24T08:51:58-07:00 October 24th, 2014|Categories: Online Legal Services, Speeding|Tags: , , , , , , |

Uber is coming to Las Vegas, it seems. If you’re not familiar with Uber, you’re probably not alone. A smartphone app that is popular in many big cities, you would only know it if you are someone plugged into that scene, or perhaps had lived or spent significant time in San Francisco, New York, or a few other cities it services. If you’re unfamiliar with what a smartphone or tablet app is, you may want to google the term and read up a little before heading any farther. The Uber app is paid ride sharing. The app connects you with a private driver who will give you a ride from where you are to wherever you’re going next for a prearranged fee. The app maker keeps twenty percent, and the driver keeps the rest.  One of the interesting things, and what got us here at 24hourticketpower.com interested, is the qualifications for drivers. The must carry insurance and have a spotless record with law enforcement to be licensed as an Uber driver. Now, we don’t know exactly what “spotless” means to Uber yet, since they’re new. But if it means not have any Las Vegas traffic tickets on your record, this [...]

Las Vegas News – license suspended for not paying traffic ticket

Don’t be Dwight Howard. We’re not talking any of the negative things that are sometimes said about his basketball play, particularly his free throws. He’s not a shooter, ok? He’s not the guy that’s a threat anywhere on the floor he gets the ball, he’s not James or Durant or Duncan. He’s still a great player, league leader in rebounds, top stats in other areas. But we digress – our point was not to talk about his basketball game. Where you don’t want to be like him is how you deal with traffic tickets. In Las Vegas news on traffic tickets, here’s Howard, getting his license suspended because he didn’t pay a fine. Dwight Howard, ladies and gentlemen, could have used the service that people use in Las Vegas to handle traffic tickets online easily, quickly, and inexpensively: 24hourticketpower.com. With 24hourticketpower.com you don’t have to do any of the things that Dwight Howard forgot to do. You just don’t have to deal with it. And you certainly don’t have to deal with what Howard has to deal with now, which certainly includes going to traffic court. With 24hourticketpower.com you don’t have to leave your house to deal with your Las [...]

One frequent web page that those wishing to avoid speeding and traffic tickets in Las Vegas should bookmark and visit frequently is the View page of the Las Vegas Review Journal. The Area Briefings that they often put out can give you a lot of helpful information about where construction is taking place that could either slow you down, get you caught for the double penalty of speeding in a work zone, or both. There is also information in there about many other useful tidbits for those of us interested in recent occurrences or upcoming issues with traffic law and traffic enforcement. If you’re saddled with a Las Vegas traffic ticket and want to fight it online, visit 24hourticketpower.com for the hands down easiest, quickest, and most cost effective place to do that on the web. The Area Briefing has a lot of info that would be familiar to regular readers of this blog. Things like recent traffic enforcement numbers, stories of traffic violations or the number of people caught in particular enforcement stings, you name it. For instance, it highlighted a recent crackdown done by the Henderson Police Department, in conjunction with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, that [...]

Candidate Wants All Las Vegas Traffic Tickets Thrown Out

By | 2014-09-30T00:12:30-07:00 September 30th, 2014|Categories: General Ticket Info, Online Legal Services, Traffic Arrest Warrants|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

There is good news for those among us who just can’t seem to stay away from traffic tickets. Whether it’s from speeding or running a red light or a cell phone violation (or more), one candidate for Clark County District Attorney wants to have the DA’s office drop charges in Las Vegas traffic tickets where no property was damaged and no one was hurt. That would be good news for anyone staring down the barrel of a traffic ticket they can’t afford to pay, whether it be the money, the points on their license, or the hit to their insurance premium that comes with a traffic conviction. Before you get your hopes up, though, a dash of cold water: according to political handicappers, this candidate, Jim Duensing, appears to have very little chance of winning the race. A Libertarian, Mr. Duensing is said to have virtually no money, political backing, or hope of prevailing in current the current district attorney, Democrat Steve Wolfson, in heavily Democratic Clark County. That’s why you need 24hourticketpower.com. When the candidate who wants to throw out your Clark County traffic ticket has very little chance of becoming district attorney, you need an actual traffic attorney [...]

Don’t Try to Outrun a Las Vegas Speeding Ticket, Fight it Online

By | 2014-08-31T00:46:05-07:00 August 31st, 2014|Categories: Las Vegas Legal News, Online Legal Services, Speeding|Tags: , , , |

Folks, don’t try to run away and hide from a ticket, either literally or metaphorically. Bad things can happen if you do. If you try to run away from a ticket you were given by avoiding paying it, thinking you’ll fight it yourself but never getting around to it, the fines can increase and your ability to fight it decrease, exponentially in both cases. And if you try to actually outrun the stop itself, like this gentleman tried to outrun a Las Vegas speeding ticket, you are just as likely to end up in the intensive care unit of a hospital, just like he did. Now, it does appear from that article like the man may have been running from more than just the speeding ticket he was initially being pulled over for. It’s actually not 100 percent clear if that was why he was being pulled over in the first place – it seems as if he may have been riding a motorcycle that wasn’t properly registered, and that may have been the cause of the initial sirens and lights. However, and for whatever reason, the man then sped away. The incident took place in the area of Rainbow [...]

Prime Time for School Zone Speeding Tickets in Nevada

By | 2014-08-20T00:58:11-07:00 August 20th, 2014|Categories: Local News, Reckless Driving, Speeding|Tags: , , , , |

This is one of top times that people get school zone speeding tickets in Southern Nevada, a ticket that no one who is on the receiving end of enjoys. Those 15 mile per hour zones can catch up with you quickly – a measly 45 miles per hour can land you reckless driving, and any speed at all if you don’t yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk. With classes just started back up, now is when we see a lot of drivers ticketed for speeding in a school zone in Clark County for two main reasons. The first one is maybe the most obvious to many people: drivers forget. Following a nice summer of not having to bring it down to that crawling, mocking pace, drivers have a hard time initially remembering that the zones are in effect. The second reason is scheduling. Thousands upon thousands of parents have just had school drop off and pickup reintroduced into their schedules. That means extra people on the roadway running late and trying to make up for time, especially when they are the double late of tardy for drop off on top of for day job. Savvy Las Vegas drivers know [...]

In Las Vegas News: Red Light Violation Saves Life

By | 2014-08-16T00:52:51-07:00 August 16th, 2014|Categories: Careless Driving, General Ticket Info, Running a Red Light|Tags: , , , , , , , |

We wrote recently about a man who avoided a speeding ticket because he had a mild heart attack when the cop pulled him over. Today we have Las Vegas news of a red light violation that a woman avoided being ticketed before because she was apparently choking and in need of assistance, which was perhaps why she didn’t see the red light. It’s also possible, we suppose, that she saw the red light but either needed to get through it to try to get to the hospital, or perhaps even saw the police officer and was hoping to be pulled over so that someone trained in first response and CPR could assist her in her emergency. If you’re stopped for running a red light in Las Vegas and didn’t have an excuse to get you out of the ticket like this woman, but need to get out of your ticket and want to fight it online and easily, visit 24hourticketpower.com today to see how easy we make it, and how good and quick a resolution we can get for you. The incident in question happened in Michigan, in one of the places in the running for towns with the best [...]

Could a Las Vegas Speeding Ticket Save a Life, Too?

By | 2014-08-04T01:07:49-07:00 August 4th, 2014|Categories: Online Legal Services, Speeding|Tags: , , , , |

Very few people in Las Vegas get a speeding ticket and are happy about it. Very few people worldwide, we’d guess, are happy to get speeding ticket or traffic violation. We feel comfortable making that guess because even though 24hourticketpower.com fights traffic tickets online in Clark County, not worldwide, we know the sentiment. We also know a speeding ticket really means the same thing everywhere – some sort of fine or demerit or worse – not a warm cookie and glass of milk carried on a tray by the officer pulling you over. If only wishing made it so. However, not to bury the lead too too far: there’s a recent speeding ticket story in Las Vegas news about a man in Maine having his life saved after nearly dying during a traffic stop for speeding. This story comes to us all the way from Kennebunk, Maine. Yes, that Kennebunk, the vacation spot of presidents and dignitaries and East Coast elites. Just a few short days ago an 86 year old man was stopped for speeding, and was hit with an apparent heart attack just moments after handing over the requisite license and registration. We’ll save the jokes about the [...]

Watch for Speeding Tickets North of Las Vegas on I15

By | 2014-07-21T23:40:12-07:00 July 21st, 2014|Categories: Online Legal Services, Speeding|Tags: , , , , , |

Have you needed to drive north of Las Vegas on Interstate 15 recently? If so, you’ve probably noticed something: traffic slowing to a crawl, at least for the last month. There’s construction going on that’s taking traffic down to one lane in each direction at times. If this is your commute, perhaps you live out in Overton and work in North Las Vegas, you’re probably all too familiar with this new reality. One of the things we see from our clients here at 24hourticketpower.com is how much construction traffics can bring about speeding tickets in North Las Vegas and across the valley. It’s not just that police can be extra vigilant and strict in enforcement of a speeding ticket in a work zone in Clark County, it’s what the slowing traffic does to the rest of your commute and timing that can sometime get you. If you’re looking to fight a Las Vegas speeding ticket online 24hourticketpower.com is your best, easiest, least expensive choice. We’ve seen, and experienced ourselves certainly, how some days you’re just running late. If you add on top of that maybe forgetting for one morning that construction traffic is going on, boy are you in for [...]

Fewer Las Vegas Speeding Tickets, Fewer Cops

By | 2014-07-11T23:54:36-07:00 July 11th, 2014|Categories: Las Vegas Legal News, Online Legal Services, Speeding|Tags: , , , , , , |

A recent article on traffic enforcement, accidents, and overall strategy that we saw in the Las Vegas Sun was interesting for several reasons. First and foremost, the article quoted law enforcement officials, including Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie, as saying the Las Vegas Metro Police don’t have enough officers anymore to run speed traps with radar and furthermore don’t have enough patrol cars out on the streets to effectively be giving out enough Las Vegas speeding tickets to keep traffic safety as well under control as it could be. This will be news to any of the vast numbers of people cited speeding in Clark County, or DUI, reckless driving, and any number of other traffic infringements. Our top traffic ticket attorneys here at 24hourticketpower.com certainly haven’t seen any dramatic drop in people seeking our help in dealing with traffic issues and Las Vegas traffic court, nor any major reduction in people using our system, the best way to fight a Nevada speeding ticket online. If you’ve been unlucky enough to be on the receiving end of a speeding ticket in Clark County and want to fight it the easy way, ergo totally online, visit 24hourticketpower.com today to find out exactly [...]

4th of July Sees Merriment, DUIs in Las Vegas

By | 2014-07-09T23:56:57-07:00 July 9th, 2014|Categories: DUI, Local News, Online Legal Services|Tags: , , , , , , |

For a recent article in the Las Vegas Sun, the author, Wesley Juhl, went out on patrol with a couple of regular officers for a ride along on the 4th of July. We can imagine that this isn’t a typical day in the life of a police officer, as so much more is going on than your regular shift. Perhaps this is a good thing, and perhaps a bad thing – it might be nice to hear about what a regular day is like to give us an idea, as opposed to a crazy day like the 4th. Whatever the case, we were interested in one part of the story that seemed lacking: there was nothing written about traffic tickets or DUI arrests in Las Vegas. We know from the statistics, and we know from our experience, and we know from common sense that the 4th of July, like any celebratory holiday, sees its fair share of traffic tickets for anything from speeding to illegally celebrating in the streets. We know, above all, that you see more DUI arrests in Las Vegas on holidays like the 4th of July than you do lots of other times. We know because we [...]

More Las Vegas Traffic Tickets Called For by Newspaper

It seems like clockwork that another newspaper editorial would have come out recently asking how we can eliminate or reduce the number of traffic accidents on our streets. Upping enforcement and handing out more traffic tickets in Las Vegas Metro’s area is one idea proposed, as is master planning of communities. Other problems identified and listed in blocks that are too long and should be shortened, the addition of more pedestrian walk ways, more police officers to carry out the extra enforcement listed above, and that more accountability should be taken and given. The article calls out certain efforts that have been put into place to lower the number of accidents in Las Vegas. In lieu of the ability to hire more officers, for a variety of reasons, Metro Police have shifted enforcement strategies. They’ve deprioritized sending officers to take statements and do official reports on car accidents in Las Vegas that don’t initially present with injuries. Laws have been enacted to combat distracted driving which is a definite cause of accidents and pedestrian injuries such as banning texting and talking while driving in Nevada and giving cell phone tickets out for it. It was even made a primary offense, meaning you can [...]

Update in DUI Case in Major Accident

All that’s left for one driver who was facing DUI charges in Las Vegas from a headline grabbing crash is to be sentenced by the judge. This is the driver of the vehicle that smashed into a popular Las Vegas eatery, the Egg and I, over a year ago. If you remember this story from other news sites or our coverage, skip ahead to the next paragraph. For those of you who didn’t hear about this story, a little catch up: April first of last year, lunch hour, a vehicle driven by the defendant crosses the median on Sahara Avenue, hits a sedan and a pickup that were going the opposite direction, and then smashes into the restaurant after barreling through the outdoor seating patio, at least according to witnesses. Ten people were hurt in this Las Vegas car accident, to varying degrees. The driver is charged with driving under the influence in Clark County after police found Xanax, marijuana, and a synthetic drug called spice in his system above and beyond the legal limits for any of them. Several people were seriously injured. The driver who was charged with DUI in Southern Nevada tried to flee, as did his [...]
