Signs Go Up to Prevent North Las Vegas Speeding

By | 2014-10-25T22:48:39-07:00 October 25th, 2014|Categories: Las Vegas Legal News, Speeding|Tags: , , , |

Well, the excuse many a person used to give for getting a speeding ticket in North Las Vegas on Nellis Boulevard of “there weren’t any speed limit” signs is no longer even remotely effective. It’s not an excuse that is particularly effective at all, in most people’s experience, but there are some places and times when you can get out of a ticket with it. However, according to recent news, more signes have now been put up there. In the span of North Las Vegas Boulevard and Carey Avenue, three new speed limit signs have been put up on Nellis Boulevard in the southbound direction – so watch out for those Clark County speeding tickets there now more than ever. If you’re stopped for speeding Southern Nevada fight your ticket online with quickly and easily. The speed limit in that section, in case you were wondering, is still 45 miles per hour. Not exactly slow, but people would go faster there still. This all came about – the speed limit signs going up, because someone contacted Traffic8 to inquire about the lack of speed limit signs on the stretch of road and talk about driving going too fast and [...]

Don’t be Dwight Howard. We’re not talking any of the negative things that are sometimes said about his basketball play, particularly his free throws. He’s not a shooter, ok? He’s not the guy that’s a threat anywhere on the floor he gets the ball, he’s not James or Durant or Duncan. He’s still a great player, league leader in rebounds, top stats in other areas. But we digress – our point was not to talk about his basketball game. Where you don’t want to be like him is how you deal with traffic tickets. In Las Vegas news on traffic tickets, here’s Howard, getting his license suspended because he didn’t pay a fine. Dwight Howard, ladies and gentlemen, could have used the service that people use in Las Vegas to handle traffic tickets online easily, quickly, and inexpensively: With you don’t have to do any of the things that Dwight Howard forgot to do. You just don’t have to deal with it. And you certainly don’t have to deal with what Howard has to deal with now, which certainly includes going to traffic court. With you don’t have to leave your house to deal with your Las [...]

Candidate Wants All Las Vegas Traffic Tickets Thrown Out

By | 2014-09-30T00:12:30-07:00 September 30th, 2014|Categories: General Ticket Info, Online Legal Services, Traffic Arrest Warrants|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

There is good news for those among us who just can’t seem to stay away from traffic tickets. Whether it’s from speeding or running a red light or a cell phone violation (or more), one candidate for Clark County District Attorney wants to have the DA’s office drop charges in Las Vegas traffic tickets where no property was damaged and no one was hurt. That would be good news for anyone staring down the barrel of a traffic ticket they can’t afford to pay, whether it be the money, the points on their license, or the hit to their insurance premium that comes with a traffic conviction. Before you get your hopes up, though, a dash of cold water: according to political handicappers, this candidate, Jim Duensing, appears to have very little chance of winning the race. A Libertarian, Mr. Duensing is said to have virtually no money, political backing, or hope of prevailing in current the current district attorney, Democrat Steve Wolfson, in heavily Democratic Clark County. That’s why you need When the candidate who wants to throw out your Clark County traffic ticket has very little chance of becoming district attorney, you need an actual traffic attorney [...]

Stats on Speeding Tickets in Las Vegas

There’s a reason for traffic enforcement and giving out speeding tickets in Las Vegas, and that is that speeding was the cause of fully 20% of the fatal accidents in Las Vegas that have happened so far this year. It could be even higher than that, as another 27% of fatal traffic accidents had a “pending” or “other” as the cause. We suspect that many of those “other” category accidents had to do with people being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as that is not a category listed on the pie chart of causes of fatal accidents. This information comes to us from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Traffic Bureau, in their near monthly report on accidents and traffic violations, accidents, and speeding tickets in Southern Nevada. Just because some people drive unsafely and end up injuring or killing people is no reason that Las Vegas Metro Police should take it out on you with a speeding ticket. Not that we are advocating unsafe driving or speeding, not in the least. However, police officers can both get it wrong on the facts and on the principle. It might be that you weren’t speeding at all, but they [...]

More Las Vegas Traffic Tickets Called For by Newspaper

It seems like clockwork that another newspaper editorial would have come out recently asking how we can eliminate or reduce the number of traffic accidents on our streets. Upping enforcement and handing out more traffic tickets in Las Vegas Metro’s area is one idea proposed, as is master planning of communities. Other problems identified and listed in blocks that are too long and should be shortened, the addition of more pedestrian walk ways, more police officers to carry out the extra enforcement listed above, and that more accountability should be taken and given. The article calls out certain efforts that have been put into place to lower the number of accidents in Las Vegas. In lieu of the ability to hire more officers, for a variety of reasons, Metro Police have shifted enforcement strategies. They’ve deprioritized sending officers to take statements and do official reports on car accidents in Las Vegas that don’t initially present with injuries. Laws have been enacted to combat distracted driving which is a definite cause of accidents and pedestrian injuries such as banning texting and talking while driving in Nevada and giving cell phone tickets out for it. It was even made a primary offense, meaning you can [...]

DUI Arrests by Las Vegas Police Stats

By | 2014-04-04T23:40:22-07:00 April 4th, 2014|Categories: DUI, Las Vegas Legal News|Tags: , , , , , |

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has really been going after people for Las Vegas DUI, speeding, and other traffic violations. The interesting thing is that, in the first few months of this year, DUI arrests in Clark County are way down from what they were in previous years. There are a number of different factors that could be from, and the numbers don’t exactly tell us. It could be that previous DUI arrests, and a more stringent application of the ignition lock law, have taken some chronic offenders off the streets. It could be that police have found better ways to work with the community and get the word out about free rides on major holidays that the cab companies and public transportation offer. It could be some of their programs that we’ve written about recently, like the ones where they visit high schools to try to get people young and prevent them from forming any kind of habit around driving under influence, are paying off. Then there are more the more troubling reasons that could be the cause of the fewer DUI arrests in Southern Nevada. Fewer police patrols from strapped Metro Police budgets could mean fewer police [...]

Foot Patrols, Different Las Vegas Traffic Tickets

We may be learning at least a part of what Metro is doing with its reallocation of staff resources following the controversial decision to stop sending officers to non-injury accidents. What they’re doing may actually lower the number of Las Vegas traffic tickets that they are handing out. Bear with us a moment on that. According to recent news in Las Vegas, cops are going to be getting out of their vehicles more. New policing strategies has the uniformed metro officers who are often handing out Clark County traffic tickets instead hopping out of their vehicles and walking around and talking to people for forty five minute stretches. This is both a community policing and a hot spot centric enforcement strategy. While many crimes are committed by the same small group of criminals, the same holds true for places. A recent study showed that 95% of crime takes place in 5 percent of a particular region. So instead of focusing on individuals, police will be patrolling by vehicle then stopping and hopping out and walking around talking to people and checking things out for 45 minutes. What does that mean for traffic tickets in Las Vegas? Well, it could mean [...]

The number of traffic citations issued by Las Vegas Metro Police will take your breath away, plain and simple. If we say over 5,000 traffic citations were given out by them in _____ period of time, what would be your guess? A month, maybe have a year? Possibly a quarter, we suppose, since that’s a standard unit of measurement in government accounting? No, that’s how many traffic tickets Metro wrote in just the first half of this month, December, and the full number is 5,074. That would just be a mind boggling number if you didn’t deal with this type of thing every day, like we do here at We actually do so many of them, because there are so many given out, that we can process them quickly, cheaply, and favorably by handling them through a bulk processing time period that the court allots to attorneys handling multiple cases. Maybe the best part? In the vast majority of our cases, you don’t even have to leave your house. You can handle your traffic ticket online in Nevada with This bit of information was something we found in an article we recently read. We knew the number was [...]

Our system allows you to fix Las Vegas traffic tickets online, meaning that, in the vast majority of cases, you don’t have to go to court – our lawyers take care of everything for you while you get on with your life. Fortunately for many people, a new law is about to take effect that allows people to obtain a driver authorization card even if they’re undocumented immigrants living in the United States. That’s good for those individuals because it means they can legally drive and avoid getting Clark County traffic tickets for driving without a license, and it is good for the rest of us. Why is it good for citizens and law abiding immigrants who are in this country legally? Because everyone gets in accidents, even and sometimes especially people who don’t have a driver license or authorization. They’ve never had to take a skills test at the DMV, like these people will now have to, and that can make them more prone to [...]

Distracted Driving in Nevada for Google Glass?

By | 2013-12-05T00:56:27-07:00 December 5th, 2013|Categories: DUI, Illegal Driving, Online Legal Services|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

Traffic law in Nevada is always evolving as technology, vehicles, roadways, and research evolve as well. Just very recently states have been adopting hands free cell phone laws, and just a little over two years it became law that you could get a traffic ticket in Nevada for a cell phone violation. At the same time, other laws and rules evolved. Nevada became a pioneer for licensing driverless vehicles to be tested and used here in certain circumstances. Those cars so far are by and large created and tested with the greatest potential commercial viability by Google, which is the subject of yet another controversy for its technology and how it affects traffic laws in Nevada and across the country. This time, the subject of the controversy is the new Google Glass, a pair of glasses with a small screen that, while transparent, is still a video screen that you’d theoretically be watching and distracted by as you’re driving. New reports are out that police in some states are starting to ticket for this offense. If you’re cited for distracted driving for using a cell phone in Las Vegas and want to fight the ticket without having to hassle with [...]

Do you ever feel like lawyers, judges, and legal professionals in general are speaking another language? If you’ve ever been in court, or even had a ticket and had to go to traffic court, you’ve probably had that experience. If you’re trying to fight a traffic ticket in Las Vegas by yourself, you may have gotten confused by the legalese they were speaking, and just thrown in the towel and paid the fine in disgust. For instance, take the new “clarifications” issued by the Las Vegas traffic court in a Traffic Bench-Bar Committee meeting. These clarifications are anything but clear to the non-legal professional, they sound like gobbledygook, talking about rolling three year reviews, bulk traffic court sessions, referees, mandatory traffic school and requirements that just came into effect for that, and how old citations will be included in the rolling review of three years, or not, and what dates certain new requirements come into effect that are covered in these new laws governing the disposition of these matters. Head hurt yet? That’s why you need experienced legal professionals like the ones we have at to fight your Clark County traffic ticket online – meaning you don’t have to [...]

Perhaps the one constant in this world is change. By nature, you change as you grow older, you and every other living thing on this earth. As cities grow older or bigger or younger, grow up or grow out, or even shrink, even more will change on the periphery as well as in fundamental ways to reflect any shifts in populations, demographics, areas of higher use or lower use, and more. This can be a challenge in any number of ways. It can stress infrastructure, crowd streets, force municipal changes, cause more accidents or fewer, and even, possibly, result in you getting a traffic ticket in Las Vegas. Why? Two words: auto pilot. On a route you drive constantly, everyone starts to take it for granted. You know where the lights and the stop signs are by heart, you zone out as you navigate them effortlessly, and sometimes find yourself at your destination with no real memory of the drive. The problem is that, if a new traffic signal or sign gets put in, you run the risk of breaking the law if you’re not paying attention. If this happens to you, and you need to avoid traffic court in [...]

Sometimes, traffic laws can seem to be arbitrarily and unnecessarily enforced. They are there, after all, to protect us from each other and ourselves. This, while an admirable goal, can be interpreted and abused by folks whose job it is enforce the law. Sometimes overzealous officers can forget the spirit of the law and their personal discretion in pursuit of . . . who knows what – maybe meeting a ticket quota, maybe just having a bad day. Such was the case recently with a writer for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Steven Kalas, which he recounts in a blog regarding his recent traffic citation in Las Vegas. If you, like Mr. Kalas, feel like you want to fight the ticket, or need to for having points on your license or some other reason like personal indignation at the application of the law, can help. Best of all, you don’t even have to take time out of your day to fight the traffic or speeding ticket in Las Vegas, we’ll handle everything for you. Mr. Kalas, as he recounts in his blog, was following the spirit and intent of the law, if not, maybe, the exact wording or application taken [...]
